The Journey so far!
I grew up in a rural community and attended a small high school of less than 400 kids. In my time there I became the first AIME Qualifier in the history of the high school. For me the AMC tests were like the Super Bowl for Mathematics lovers and I thoroughly enjoyed the intricately designed problems and their beautiful solutions created by the MAA. I began tutoring Math while in College and got back into tutoring the AMC 10 and AMC 12 as those were always my true passion when I started working for CL Academy in Orange County, CA. I had taught AMC prep for 10 years there when I decided it was time to start a YouTube Channel in late December of 2019 to see if my ability to explain the problems was actually helpful to a wider audience than just my local community. I was honestly very scared of failure in the beginning, it is quite unnerving to put what you think you have to offer the world out for all to see and judge on YouTube. There were many restless nights, worried if I made the right decision and lots of learning about how to record video along the way.
The channel was partnered with YouTube within 9 months of true launch. 3 months later, I made the decision to found TheBeautyofMath Inc. as a tutoring business and am looking forward to the challenges ahead as I strive to deliver for all of my students the same joy I experienced in finally getting AIME qualified. Growing up I never had a single hour of private tutoring. So the YouTube Channel was honestly a way to give help to similar people who like my family could not afford such things. My name is James.
